First flight flew from the new terminal of the Emelyanovo airport in Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk, the first flight left the new terminal of the Yemelyanovo Airport. Almost 100 passengers went to Norilsk. In the building of the new terminal, there are 6 boarding bridges, modern baggage handling and security systems. This reported by Rossiya 1 TV channel.

The passengers flying from the new terminal of the Yemelyanovo Airport see how much the terminal changed before even entering the building. Modern glass facade and a canopy that resembles one of Krasnoyarsk's symbols, the cable bridge over the Yenisei.

One gets more impressed when comes inside. Both decoration and space, which wasn't enough in the old airport, are impressive.

A passenger: "The new one is a giant! The old one was small, there isn't enough space. There're three floors here and a lot of space. There aren't many people so far".

The first plane goes to Norilsk. There aren't any lines at check-in, as it used to be. You won't spend more than five minutes dropping off your luggage and printing the boarding pass.

"Would you prefer a window or an aisle seat?”

The check-ins are on the first floor, the departures are on the third. It's convenient moving in between these areas. There are escalators. There are elevators for passengers traveling with children. There are 21 of them in the new terminal.

A huge waiting hall with enough seating for everyone. However, there are only a few first passengers who're sitting. They're studying the new terminal as if being on a tour. They take many pictures to show their friends later. Unusual designs, a satellite hanging from the ceiling. A picture gallery with Siberian landscapes and copies of Surikov's paintings. The waiting time before the flight passes fast.

A passenger: "I was surprised to know that I'd be flying from the new terminal. I received a text message saying that I'd be among the first passengers. It's a grandiose structure. It's done well and it's beautiful".

Passengers feel comfortable stepping into the plane from the airport building. Before this terminal opening, all flights passengers, in any weather, had to walk to get to the plane. The new building has boarding bridges.

Starting today, all domestic flights will arrive and depart from here. After the customs checkpoint is ready, the new terminal will start receiving international flights. And the Krasnoyarsk Airport will become the biggest Russian air hub beyond the Urals.

The new airport can serve five million passengers a year. 2019 will become the busiest year, as the Winter Universiade will take place in Krasnoyarsk.
