Preliminary work on PD-35 that could be used in aircraft with wide fuselage started, according to the statement of Russia's United Engine Corporation (UEC).
Russia's United Engine Corporation (UEC) started the research and development of PD-35 engine that could be used in aircraft with wide fuselage, a representative of the UEC said Wednesday.
"Preliminary work on PD-35 has already started. As of today, it is on a research and development stage," the representative told RIA Novosti.
The PD-35 is an advanced engine model for wide-body aircraft. The project is expected to be created with the use of technologies used in the latest PD-14 engines that are planned to be used in the MC-21 airliner.
UEC is a subsidiary company of the United Industrial Corporation producing various engines including those for military and civil aviation.
