Russian Technologies State Corporation and Odebrecht Defensa e Technologia (Brazil) signed a memorandum on technical cooperation on December 14^th 2012, press-service of Russian Technologies reports. AEX.ru

The cooperation as sumes joint development and establishment of a jointventure for production of helicopters, air defense weapons,naval vehicles, etc.

The delegation of Odebrecht (parent company of Odebrecht Defensa e Technologia), was visiting Moscow on October 15^th – 18^th 2012. During the negotiations important agreements have been reached in the area of establishing the joint venture in Brazil for assembling the Russian-made helicopters (first of all this refers to Mi171 Family helicopters), establishing a service center for Mi-35M helicopters and developing an integrated air defense system on behalf of Brazilian armed forces.

Following the results of the negotiations Rosoboronexport, Russian Helicopters and Odebrecht Defensa e Technologia have signed trilateral memorandum of understanding. Odebrecht stated that it is ready to discuss the establishment of strategic technological alliance with Russian Technologies.

The cooperation may assume technology transfer, establishment of joint ventures, signing of subcontracts and other agreements. The joint working group is being created for coordination of the cooperation.

«Brazil is our long-standing partner. For example, Brazilian air forces are operating Russian-made Mi-35M attack helicopters. Another batch of these vehicles was delivered to the customer in August, - Deputy Director General of Rosoboronexport, Dmitry Shugaev, said. – The signing of this memorandum will help us reach a new level, start the joint development and production of military and civil vehicles».

Russia-Brazil military-technical cooperation is being carried out in accordance with an intergovernmental agreement signed in November 2008. The total value of weapons and military equipment delivered to Brazil from this moment on is about $306,7 million.
