The excursion to the cargo terminal was held by Vladimir Fedorenko, General Director of LLC Moscow Cargo, who introduced the technology of work and the capabilities of the new cargo complex.
The construction of the cargo complex was carried out within the framework of the Long-Term Development Program of Sheremetyevo International Airport, which is going to be held till 2026. The construction works were carried out intensively, in a short time and with high quality: the cargo complex was built practically from the scratch for the period from March 2016 to July 2017.
In September 2017, the terminal took the first cargo and within the next two months, the entire turnover of domestic air lines was completely transferred to the service. This is a record time for the launch of automated terminals of such scale. In January 2018, the transfer of international flights to the new terminal was completed.
The terminal "Moscow Cargo" meets the international standards in the field of ground handling of cargoes and surpasses in the level of technical equipment all available analogues in Russia. The terminal is equipped with a unique for Russia automated system of storage and handling of goods by Lödige. Automation of operations of the production cycle reaches 60%.
Two separate zones are organised in the terminal's production areas - for container and bulk cargo storage - with a single automated control system. "Moscow Cargo" is equipped with modern systems for handling special categories of cargo and all classes of danger, including radioactive materials.
Technical characteristics of the cargo complex "Sheremetyevo Moscow Cargo": the complex has a seven-stage system of rack storage and moving of cargoes, which is designed for 3198 "household" pallets. The four-level container storage area of the terminal is equipped with an automated ULD (aviation container) processing system for 576 cells, 60 of which are designed for storing ULD with temperature sensitive loads (t from +2 to + 8 ° C).
Also:
- 20 lifting-transport devices ETV (carrying capacity - 13.6 tons).
- 13 container lines with access to the platform (1 for accepting / sending 20 pallets)
- 29 docks for the reception / delivery of goods (2 for the processing of bulky goods, including cars)
- The newest platform equipment for loading / unloading aircraft
- 36 workstations for picking / unsetting loads: (20 with lifting and lowering mechanism for working with high-level ULD, 1 for handling 20 ULDs)
- Multidirectional movement sections forming a ball field
Unique to Russia are the possibilities of the Moscow Cargo terminal for storage of pharmaceutical cargoes allowing to ensure that AirBridgeCargo obtained an IATA CEIV certificate for transportation of pharmaceutical products throughout the route network.
The cargo terminal "Moscow Cargo" is equipped with a comfortable client lounge, in which it is possible to arrange the dispatch and receipt of cargo. New standards of customer service are provided: for shippers and consignees in the "one-stop" mode, 20 service points operate, and an electronic queue system operates. Clients are offered the opportunity to get information about the cargo handling status, print cargo tags and safety declarations through the personal cabinet on the site of LLC "Moscow Cargo".
Considering the significant growth in cargo turnover at the Sheremetyevo Airport and the growing needs of freight airlines, and also according to the Long-Term Development Program, Sheremetyevo Airport plans to handle over 700,000 tons of cargo by 2024 annually.
In this regard, in the current year, the design and construction of the second stage of the cargo terminal will start, designed to handle an additional 380,000 tons of cargo per year. In partnership with PJSC Aeroflot and Volga-Dnepr, Sheremetyevo Airport will strengthen the position of the global cargo hub of Europe.
Sheremetyevo International Airport is the largest Russian airport in terms of passenger and freight traffic, takeoff and landing operations, the area of the airport complex and the capacity of the cargo complex. The Sheremetyevo route network comprises over 200 destinations. In 2017, SIA serviced 40 million 093 thousand passengers, which is 17.8% higher than 2016. According to the results of 2017 according to the rating of the British research company OAG Sheremetyevo entered the top three world leaders in punctuality and was recognized as the most punctual in Europe in category of airports with an annual volume of 20 million to 30 million passengers for departure. The indicator of punctuality for the flight was 83.55%. At the end of 2017 Sheremetyevo took the first place in Europe for the quality of passenger service in the category of airports with a passenger flow of 25-40 million people per year in the rating of ASQ (Airport Service Quality) ACI (Airports Council International).
