The UEC, integrating more than 90% of the industry's assets, was formed in pursuance of Presidential Decree No. 497 of April 16, 2008 and Order No. 1446-r of the Government of the Russian Federation of 04 October 2008 with a view to consolidating the intellectual and production potential domestic engine building. The most significant strategic objectives of the UEC are: complete fulfilment of the tasks of the state defence order and the state armament program; maintenance and development of competencies in all major segments: aircraft engine construction, land and sea gas turbine engines, rocket engines; ensuring sufficient resources for the implementation of prospective development programs and projects.
Mikhail Remizov, the Chairman of the Expert Council of the MIC Board: "Today we are opening the III International Forum of Engine Building. In our fast time three times - this is already a tradition, but in fact the forum has a longer history, connected with the exhibition "Engines" ASSAD, which has a long history. This year the forum comes to a new level, because it took under the wing of the UEC. This is significant, considering what anniversary we celebrate this year and this month - 10 years of the establishment of the UEC. I think that over the past 10 years it has been possible to make the whole more than the sum of the parts. We are in the phase when from the integration, consolidation, recovery of assets, from the anti-crisis agenda, we can move on to the agenda of technological and economic development.
There is one more anniversary - the 110th anniversary of the birthday of the outstanding engine developer Arkhip Mikhalkovich Lyulka. This is one of the pillars of domestic engine building. One of those people, thanks to which our country entered the big league of industrial powers. I think you will agree with me that the criterion for membership in this league is in many ways the ability to make engines in different "categories". Thanks to the reserve created by these people, we still keep positions in this league. Today's forum and exhibition is a good opportunity to see, present and discuss the achievements of domestic engine building in recent years. "
The CEO of the UEC Alexander Artyukhov: "On behalf of the UEC and on behalf of the organisers of the International Forum of Engine Building, I welcome all participants and guests of the forum. Today we get a lot of advances, in terms of our successes, because we have a number of large-scale projects that are only at the start. And only the results of this work, we will be able to confirm the positive expectations that are expected of us. At the same time, I must say that the UEC 10 years ago and the UEC today are two different organisations. During this time, a big large-scale step was taken. The main achievement I believe is that today we have focused all efforts that are in our industry, in one direction, to achieve one goal - to increase competitiveness. From disparate enterprises that solved their private tasks, we went on to implement large-scale state projects. Over the past period, we have, since 2016, reached positive results, which gives us additional opportunities to invest in development programs. Today, the investment program of the UEC is one of the largest in the industry and should lead to the implementation of projects that are on the agenda. These engines are PD-14, PD-35, engines for the advanced aviation complex of front-line aviation, advanced helicopter engines. We wish that at this forum fruitful meetings, successes and successes were held for all participants. "
President of the ASSAD Viktor Chuyko: "Dear friends, participants of our forum, dear guests, we have the III forum and the 15th congress and exhibition event on aircraft engine building. I sincerely wish all participants to spend their time at the forum with maximum efficiency. All three days of our work you will be open to contact with the leaders of the UEC. I also gladly welcome the foreign participants of our forum who actively want to cooperate with the enterprises of the UEC. I sincerely wish to UEC, its management, all employees of the staff, directors present here, the teams of the enterprises of new successes, the fulfilment of very large tasks to promote Russian technology to the world market. "
As part of the event, the Forum "Engines of the Future" was held with the participation of leading experts in the aviation industry, including foreign experts, the presentation of the PD-14 engine for the newest Russian MC-21 aircraft and other events. The exposition of the UEC on MFD-2018 reflected all the main directions of the holding's work - from engines for combat aircraft to gas turbine installations for industrial use.
For the first time at the exhibition, the full-scale sample of the turboprop engine TV7-117ST, developed by the St. Petersburg JSC "UEC-Klimov" and intended for equipping the regional IL-114-300 aircraft and IL-112V light military transport aircraft, was demonstrated at the exhibition.
The presentation of PD-14 - the basic turbofan engine, which was created in the wide cooperation of the enterprises of the UEC for the MC-21-300 aircraft with the use of the newest technologies and materials, including composite ones, was also held. The engine is not inferior to the foreign analogues in operation, and in many respects, in particular, emissions into the atmosphere, noise, etc., exceeds them. The procedure for certification of the PD-14 basic engine both for Russian and international standards is in accordance with the established deadlines. In 2018, it is planned to receive a certificate of the Federal Air Transport Agency, and in 2019 - EASA.
Also, the civil aircraft engine industry was represented by the SaM146 power plant, which is equipped with the SuperJet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft. The engine is produced by Rybinsk PJSC "UEC-Saturn" on terms of equal partnership with Safran Aircraft Engines (France). SaM146 is certified according to EASA and AR MAC standards and since 2011 is in commercial operation. The total operating time of the SaM146 power plants in operation in March 2018 exceeded 830,000 flight hours.
The direction of combat aviation is opened by the AL-41F-1C engine manufactured by the Ufa-based UEC-UMPO PJSC. This is a turbojet dual-loop engine of the 4 ++ generation with a afterburner and a controlled thrust vector, a deep modernisation of the AL-31F engine. From the predecessor, the engine is distinguished by an increased life and a thrust of 14.5 tons. AL-41F-1C allows the aircraft to develop supersonic speed without the use of afterburner.
RD-33MK - turbojet dual-loop engine with afterburner - modification of the basic engine RD-33, subjected to serious design refinement. The engine is designed for the MiG-29K / KUB deck fighter aircraft, as well as for the newest multifunctional MiG-35 fighter. In January 2017 engines RD-33MK worked without any comments during the first test flight MiG-35. When creating the RD-33MK, all the advantages of the base platform were retained, while the engine has increased traction (increased by 10% in forced modes).
MFD-2018 also presented the newest digital block of automatic regulation and control BARK-88 developed by JSC "UEC-Klimov", intended for modernisation of control systems of engines of the RD-33 family. The use of BARK-88 in the engine management and control system significantly increases the operational capabilities of the fighter.
Another engine AL-31FN is a turbojet two-circuit, two-shaft engine with a mixture of internal and external circuits behind the turbine, afterburner and all-variable adjustable supersonic jet nozzle. The engine is a modification of the AL-31F engine with the lower location of the boxes of engine and aircraft units. It is intended for single-engine fighters of Chinese manufacture. At MFD-2018 is presented a variant with a jet nozzle with a controlled thrust vector. This nozzle developed by the Moscow JSC «NPC gas turbine construction «Salyut» is an additional option for the engine, which allows to significantly improve the flight performance of the aircraft.
In 2015, the UEC completed the measures for import replacement of engine parts and engine components AI-222-25, which are equipped with Yak-130 combat training aircraft. Currently, it is manufactured by the Moscow NPC of gas turbine construction "Salyut" entirely from Russian components. Earlier, about half of the components were supplied from abroad.
JSC "UEC-Klimov" developed and successfully tested the latest modification of the VK-2500 helicopter turbo-engine - VK-2500PS engine with improved performance characteristics and the use of modern Russian digital electronic control and monitoring system. The engine implements solutions that allow managing the resource characteristics depending on the specific operating conditions. The basic application of VK-2500PS is the newest civil Mi-171A2 helicopter. Earlier, the UEC provided the VK-2500 engine for production in Russia.
"Helicopter" direction continues to be presented at the forum pump regulator HP-2500 (developer - Perm JSC "UEC-STAR"). Its application provides reliability and quality control of the VK-2500PS helicopter engines due to the performance of the commands from the electronic control unit by the hydromechanical unit. Embedded in the HP-2500 design solutions increase its reliability, providing engine operation in a humid and hot tropical climate.
Engine TRDD-50AT intended for installation on unmanned aerial vehicles for special purposes. The main requirements for such GTE are the minimum dimensions and weight, high efficiency and reliability.
The IEEF-2018 also demonstrated a marine gas turbine engine M70FRU designed and manufactured by PJSC "UEC-Saturn". UEC within the program of import substitution on the basis of this enterprise created a base for marine gas turbine construction. Successfully completed three development work (R & D) for the development and production of ship gas turbine engines.
Of course, it was impossible at such a representative forum to not show the liquid rocket engine NK-33, which was created by the legendary Soviet designer Nikolai Kuznetsov for the "lunar" space project N1. It became the first in the world in its class - an engine, made in a closed circuit, working on oxygen-kerosene components, which has a multi-launch and repeated use. The development and production of the Samara enterprise UEC PJSC "Kuznetsov" presented at the forum of NK-33A is distinguished by reliability and perfection of technical parameters, demonstrates the maximum ratio of thrust to mass among modern engines. A few days before the opening of the forum, on March 29, 2018, the NK-33A engine ensured the successful launch of the Soyuz-2-1v light carrier rocket from the military spaceport Plesetsk (Arkhangelsk region).
The GTD-4RM industrial engine (PJSC "UEC-Saturn") is part of the family of gas turbines for driving gas compressors of gas pumping units and electric generators in small and medium-power thermal power plants (from 4 to 80 MW and above). Among its advantages: high fuel efficiency high reliability and safety of operation.
Opportunity of the UEC on the "industrial" direction is demonstrated by the presented model of the compressor station with the gas compressor unit GPA-25 - one of the latest developments of the Rybinsk JSC "UEC-Gas Turbines", the parent company of the UEC for the production of gas turbine power units and gas pumping complexes. GPA-25 incorporates the most advanced and modern technologies of the gas turbine and compressor industry. The unit has high technical parameters. As a drive for a centrifugal compressor, it uses highly efficient PS-90GP-25 engines based on the PS-90A aircraft engine, various modifications of which raise such legendary aircraft as IL-96 and IL-76 into the air.
