Roman Gusarov / AVIA.RU Russian aviation industry: answers to questions
20 June 2024
After the announcement in February of this year of the postponement of the start of deliveries of new domestic long-range aircraft to 25-26 years, the information field raised many questions about the situation in the domestic aircraft industry, the reasons for the postponement and the industry's ability to technologically overcome the sanctions restrictions. Moreover, in the questions there was a lot of skepticism about the very possibility to start producing aircraft in a fully import-substituted form. Yes, the task is very complicated. Not everything works out the first time, and the deadlines, even taking into account the postponement, are very tight. And yet, despite the general disbelief in our own forces and developments, I remain in the camp of optimists. No one could have imagined that an army could overcome the Alps, but Suvorov did it. далее

Roman Gusarov / AVIA.RU Engine building in the Comrehensive Program for the Development of the Russian air transport industry - part 1
26 September 2023
On August 22, 2023, the Russian Government approved amendments to the Comprehensive Development Program for the Russian aviation industry until 2030. The essence of the changes is in the forecast growth rates of Civil Aviation transportation volumes, aircraft requirements, as well as approval of the schedule of aircraft production and delivery. If the first two parameters are calculation-theoretical and their realizability is influenced by many external (political and macroeconomic) factors, the plans for the production of domestic airplanes and helicopters should be as realistic as possible. However, they can also be affected by various factors, but not so much by external factors as by intra-industry - technological ones. Often airplane and helicopter manufacturers face various kinds of problems, both technological and production. It is also not uncommon for the shift of production plans to the right to be influenced by the readiness of allied companies producing systems and units. And the most complicated in this series is undoubtedly the engine. далее

Roman Gusarov / AVIA.RU SSJ-NEW and MC-21 – TsAGI gives the go-ahead
21 June 2023
This year, Russian civil aviation celebrates its 100th anniversary. And aviation science is even older. As you know, its founders in Russia were such great Russian scientists as Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and Nikolay Zhukovsky. In my opinion, only a country that has a scientific school, developers, a testing base and the entire production cycle of aircraft and engine building can call itself an aviation power. And all this is in Russia. And now try to answer the question: how many other countries in the world meet these requirements? One, two, three? And our scientific institutes are at the foundation of all this: TsAGI, CIAM, VIAM, Gromov Flight Research Institute, etc. We will talk about how today Russian science is working on the creation of modern Russian civil aircraft SSJ-NEW and MS-21 in this material on the example of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute – TsAGI. далее
