More than 30 participants from Voronezh, Moscow, Belgorod, Oryol, Ulyanovsk, Novosibirsk regions, the Republics of Crimea and Tatarstan, Belarus, Moscow and St. Petersburg competed for the title of the best glider pilot in the country.
Among them are the most award-winning representatives of gliding sports in Russia: Dmitry Timoshenko - President of the Russian Gliding Sports Federation, 35th line in the world rating, which includes more than 5000 glider pilots in the world; Sergey Serov; Vladimir Radovsky; Anton Minsky; Vyacheslav Chekhov.
“Perhaps this is the most representative competition in Russia today. One of the main features of the tournament was that six women took part in it. Thanks to this, a separate women's competition was played,” - said the chief judge of the competition, international master of sports, world champion Tamara Sviridova.
According to the secretary of the Russian Gliding Federation Lada Balamut, such an event rarely happens. The last time the women's competition was played was in 2014 in Oryol. Although many girls go through the initial training course, they hardly participate in competitions.
This time, among the athletes were those who have a rich experience of performing at the European and World Championships: Larisa Khamitova and Nina Shalneva. There were also those who fly on a glider for their own pleasure: Rimma Gabdullina and Natalya Panova. Beginning athletes also tried their hand: Christina Yaroshevich and Anastasia Bykhovskaya.
Championship results
Individual classification winners are:
1. Anton Minsky (Moscow)
2.Sergey Serov (Voronezh region)
3. Vladimir Radovsky (Voronezh region)
For the first time in many years, the women's competition was played:
- first place - Nina Shalneva from the Novosibirsk region;
- the second place was taken by the instructor of the Sapsan flying club Larisa Khamitova.
The team from the Voronezh Region won the team competition. The combined team of the Voronezh Region since its foundation in 2013 has been a constant winner of the Russian gliding championships. An important role in this was played by the appearance among the glider pilots of a modern training base, organized by the Verkhnekhavskiy ATCK "Sapsan".
I would especially like to note the fact that, while the initial course of flight training on a glider costs 205,200 rubles, the Verkhnekhava and Usman children aged 14-18 have a unique chance to learn how to fly gliders for free.
The championship was held with the support of the Russian Gliding Federation and the Voronezh Region Gliding Federation. The winners were awarded medals, diplomas and cups. The winner was awarded the traditional prize from the co-founder of ATSK "Sapsan" - Verkhnekhavskiy LLC "SGC". The winner and three prize-winners in the sum of all exercises (in the all-around) in the individual classification will be included in the Russian national gliding team.
