By air «minibus» to the MAKS-2019
Thursday August 22, 2019 14:58 MSK / Roman Gusarov, Yulia Kuzmina
A presentation of regular helicopter transportations to the MAKS-2019 airshow took place on August, 20th. Ansat helicopters are going to operate scheduled flights from the Podushkino Helipark (Moscow Air Zone) to the air show and back. Daily flights are going to be operated by HeliExpress by Ansat helicopters during the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS - from August 27th to September 1st.

It is planned to carry out more than six flights a day with the departure from Podushkino in the morning before the opening of the show program and after its completion. The flight time will be 15-20 minutes. A comfortable minibus will deliver passengers from the place of boarding to the exhibition complex. Similarly, the delivery of passengers from the exhibition complex will be organized: from the special reception desk located near the PRIORITY zone on the territory of the MAKS-2019 airshow, special minibuses are going to deliver passengers to the helicopter landing site.

“This project is unique because we are launching  virtually regular helicopter transport in the Moscow airzone in almost 50 years. Previously, such transportation was carried out from 1960 to 1971 on Mi-4 and Mi-2 helicopters. Residents and guests of Moscow could use the services of a regular "helicopter taxi" and make a flight from the Aeroflot helicopter station, located directly in Moscow on Leningradsky Prospekt, to Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports. In addition, Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports and Vnukovo and Bykovo were connected by helicopter links. Today we have the opportunity to resume such flights and perform them by modern, comfortable Ansat helicopters,”- says Azad Karriyev, director of public relations at RVS Holding.

The project operator is HeliExpress. «We are launching this project in alliance with our official carrier, the RVS Holding. This happened because several very important factors merged together. First of all, this is our experience of more than 10 years. Second, this is the technological platform that we will now use for our transportation. I mean the Ansat helicopter, which appeared on the market relatively recently, but, nevertheless, has already proven itself. RVS company now operates 13 Ansat helicopters, 12 of them in the field of medical services. Developing a project for the development of passenger transportation, we are presenting a new modification or hypostasis of this helicopter for passenger transportation. Another important factor that affects the project is the experience of organising and performing flights in urban conditions, and the experience of operating urban helicopter infrastructure. Starting from 2014, the RCS have operated 2 helipads in the centre of Moscow. One of them is located at the House of Music, the second is located at Moscow City. Since 2014, about 500 take-offs were completed. And now we can say that experience has been gained on the safety of helicopter communications, helicopter flights over the centre of a megalopolis. The system of scheduling, flight routing and noise exposure has been developed. We see the development of the helicopter transport project in the expansion of the route network. First of all, it is intermodal transportation that connects airports. It is also a transportation that can connect regional centres with airports. We understand that helicopter communication will be in great demand for business aviation and for the development of tourism. Therefore, it was not by chance that we timed the start of our project to the MAKS airshow, where the most advanced audience from the aviation point of view is gathered, to whom we can show the new helicopter in its new version - business transportation. As for the flight to the MAX, I can say that we will make it comfortable for our passengers,» - says Natalia Trofimova, HeliExpress Development Director.

«I would like to note why today is the moment when we can start working in the air «minibus» mode? Economically, the situation has matured. A domestic platform has appeared, I mean the Ansat helicopter, on which it is technically possible and economically feasible to carry out such flights. The platform, which is produced by our colleagues, Russian Helicopters, is truly worthy and reliable. This is evidenced by our already three-year experience in operating Ansat helicopters. The raid has already passed for 1,000 hours, which is good enough for helicopters in this segment,» - says Mikhail Kazachkov, Chairman of the Board of the Helicopter Industry Association.

«I would like to thank the RVS for many years of cooperation. This company is a leader in the operation of Ansat helicopters, and their opinion on this machine is very important to us. We support the idea of regular helicopter transport and will strongly support the selection of the Ansat helicopter as the main air vehicle for the development of urban air mobility. In my opinion, the Ansat helicopter is absolutely consistent with this project in terms of its technical and other properties. Ansat is safety, economic efficiency, comfort for the crew and passenger. The helicopter certificate allows you to safely operate it in all modes for any mission, including for urban air mobility tasks. In terms of economic efficiency, our helicopter looks more competitive than its competitors in terms of its acquisition, as well as in operation and cost of ownership. As for comfort, the Ansat helicopter has the largest cabin in its class, that is, the passenger compartment is wider, higher in volume, which creates the necessary comfort, which, in our opinion, will be in demand and highly appreciated by the passenger,» - said the marketing director development of the business of Russian Helicopters Oleg Landin.

According to the organisers of the project, for the first three business days of the air show, tickets for all flights have already been booked and purchased. Now there are sales on the days of mass visits from August 30th to September 1st. On business days, 7 flights per day will be operated: 4 there and 3 back. In the days of mass visits - 3 flights there, 2 back. The first morning flight - check-in at 7:40 in Podushkino, departure for the airshow is scheduled at 8:00. Flights will be operated by the shortest route - along the Moscow Ring Road.

Further development of the project can go along the lines of ensuring transportation between airports in the Moscow airzone, flights to regional centres and airports. In addition, the possibility of organising routes for tourism is being considered.
