The Ministry of Transportation (Russian acronym Mintrans) is a part of the Russian government structure on the level of the Federation. Its responsibility is air, sear, river (fluvial), road and rail transports.
The ministry takes part in working out government policies and legislative base in the sphere of civil aviation, usage of air space, navigation services rendered to users of air space over the Russian Federation, rescue operations using aviation and space means, sea transportation (including sea ports, but excluding fishers’ collective farms), domestic river transportation, railways, automobile, city electric-powered (including underground trains) and industrial transports, as well as the road/rail network.
