Russia exported 480 newly-made fighter aircraft in the period of 2000 to 2009 inclusive, according to calculations of the Russian media.

Aleksandr Lebedev, a prominent Russian entrepreneur and owner of the National Reserve Corporation, is pictured as seeking a deal on exchange of its stake in Aeroflot for 44 newly-built Tupolev narrow body jets.

Russian media suggests that the Russian air force commander General Aleksandr Zelin will retire soon. He has been in that position since 2007.
